Visualizing Neutrino Bursts
A burst of neutrinos from a supernova, which occurs at relative time 0, stand out from the usual reception of neutrinos. (For neutrinos, ten constitute a burst). The sun omits copious neutrinos from its nuclear furnace, and the earth is almost completely transparent to their motion. This graph of a burst of around 10 neutrinos picked up by a sensitive detector illustrates how XLfit can be used to visualize data without the use of a complex fitting algorithm. |
